Ecosystems in the Green

€700.00

Acrylic, Indian ink and charcoal on Canvass, 50cm x 60cm, 2018

The scene depicted is of St. Stephens Green in central Dublin. In this piece I’ve looked to create an eco-system of marks using charcoal, Indian ink and acrylic. My aim with this work was to construct an image of the natural eco-system, to describes its complexity, diversity and how it works through harmony. My use of human figures in the scene aims to put the viewer directly into the environment and to contrast the complexity of the abstract eco system with the recognition of the human form.

For those interested in this painting, it can be viewed on show at the Cafe in the Dun Laoghaire Lexicon Library.
