The very first image completed in the “Dublin in a bright light” series.

On a summer day my good friend Ben and I went for a cycle around the city taking pictures and enjoying the Sun. At grand canal I captured this moment and it inspired me to create the series of landscape paintings that I continue to work on today. The bright proud shapes of the skyline against the endless blue sky, the futuristic feel of the docklands and the promise of the youth enjoying the fine weather. This painting serves as the statement piece for the rest of the series, a challenge to and reflection of what the Dublin is and how I want to portray it through my art.
